ASA University Bangladesh (ASAUB) started its journey in the academic arena in May 2007 (Summer Semester), following the permission granted by the Government of Bangladesh in October 2006. We enrolled about 768 students in the academic programs in the 1st Semester, of 2007. Our challenge is to develop the University not only as an institute of academic excellence but also as a center of socio-economic research. The University aims to inculcate social and moral values in our students, the leaders of tomorrow.
Mr. Md. Shafiqual Haque Choudhury, a visionary doyen of microfinance in Bangladesh and the founder of ASA, has established the University with a commitment to serve the nation. He believes that any long-term mission of eradicating poverty of the teeming millions of underprivileged and downtrodden people in our society can better be taken care of by providing society with affordable and quality higher education.
