Seminar on: “Molecular Chaperones, Ionizing Radiation & Cancer” held on Brac University

bracu-seminer-molecular-cancerA seminar was organized by the Department of Pharmacy, BRAC University on August 12, 2015, at BRAC University Auditorium titled “Molecular Chaperones, Ionizing Radiation, and Cancer” that focused on the developments in the area of cancer research.
The seminar was conducted by Dr. Ayesha Murshid, Instructor, Department of Radiation Oncology, Harvard Medical School. Dr. Ayesha Murshid is a renowned personality in the society of research. She completed her Masters in Biochemistry from the University of Dhaka and completed her PhD in Cell Biology from McGill University, Canada in 2008 from John Presley’s lab. Later she joined Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (Harvard Medical School) as a post-doctoral research fellow in Dr. Stuart Calderwood’s Lab where she characterized ‘Extracellular Heat Shock Proteins Receptors’.
Furthermore, the presence of distinguished guests from GlaxoSmithKline Bangladesh, Incepta Pharmaceuticals Ltd, Aristopharma Ltd, and Eskayef Bangladesh Ltd along with the presence of Professor A.A. Ziauddin Ahmad, Chairperson of Mathematics and Natural Science Department, BRAC University, and Mr. Mohammad Rezaur Razzak, Associate Professor, BRAC Business School made the seminar more gracious. The Department of Pharmacy of BRAC University is continuously arranging these types of seminars to enrich the knowledge of the students about the various sectors of medicine and updates on the latest research activities.
Department of Pharmacy of Brac University has been dedicated to training and guiding future pharmacists to become leaders and innovators through various curricular and co-curricular activities. Pharmacy is a noble profession that deals with alleviating human sufferings caused by various diseases.
