The Best Scientific Innovation-2015: CRISPR genome-editing technology

Crispr_geneCRISPR genome-editing technology has been recognized as the best scientific innovation of the year. The health and pharmaceutical sector has the potential to revolutionize the way. The influential US journal –Science declared this technology as the best scientific innovation-2015.

Earlier this year a controversy was raised when China’s researchers applied this genome-editing technique in the human Embryo.

Researchers have expressed concerns about the controversial research. However, many people are showing interest in the ability of this method to be mentioned in the journal Science.

The Managing Editor of the magazine John Travis said researchers have begun this process in cancer and other diseases. As a result of this approach, there is an opportunity to use the organ produced in the animal’s body in the human body. Many researchers and students have already started to work with the technique which was invented just three years ago.

Travis also said, “Though it was invented in 2012 it caught the eye last year. This is a molecular surprise.”

The Chief Editor of this Journal- Science Marcia Macnut said, that cancer immunotherapy in patients who use the interest, CRISPR technique will produce various aspects of Biology within the next two years. This technique was also at the top of the list of Immunotherapy Science as the Best Innovation of the Year 2013.

Science magazine readers voted on the best scientific facts behind the CRISPR system at the top of the Space Research Institute of NASA’s New Horizons Pluto fly-by events. New Horizons has 35% of the vote where 20% of the votes for CRISPR.

Genome cut-paste method:
You may heard about the Designer Baby before birth or edited human birth in the scientific fiction story earlier. But now these are very close to reality through the CRISPR technique. Chinese researchers have claimed this year that they successfully gave birth to Designer Dogs by using this technique first.

These dogs were born with special characteristics. Two rare species of dogs named Tiyangu & Hercules lead to a more brawny to support China’s Guangzhou Institute of Biomedicine and Health, researchers have claimed. They have done this by removing the Myostatin gene of that rare species of dog. In the case of gene-editing “CRISPR-cash -9” has been used, Chinese researchers said. It is almost like the Computer ‘cut-and-paste’ process. Putting off certain parts of the DNA in the DNA of living organisms is this process. The Professor of Harvard University George Church said, “This is the best and most efficient method of execution of DNA in human and any organism cells’

CRISPR Controversy:
Researchers fear that the CRISPR technique is very common & easy to execute in humans. Another uproar began in April of this year when another Chinese institute said that they tested the human embryo in the laboratory. That institute had claimed, they carried out this research of human embry to cure the beta-thalassemia disease. UK researchers claim this type of research should not continue until it is evaluated that this controversial genetic modification in the human embryo is safe or has any technical error. They also said that it is dangerous and anti-morality to genetic changes by using the germ-line. People will be enthusiastic to take the baby as per his/her expectations by this technique. People only want their expected genes in their embryos. It will increase the tendency to Design children.

Some researchers fear that such research is immoral purposes, but some researchers believe, cancer research can be utilized in the treatment of some diseases.

Researchers said the technology is very new, the long-term effects are still unknown. Check out the show before so superior to animals and adults.
