Mobile Court fines pharmacy Tk 20,000 in Chittagong

fine(Rajon Pandit): A mobile court of Chittagong District Administration on Saturday fined medicine seller RK Pharmacy TK 20,000 for selling doctors’ sample medicines, date expired medicines and unapproved Indian medicines.

Deputy Revenue Collector and Executive Magistrate of Chittagong District Administration Mohammad Ruhul Amin led the mobile court at city’s Dewan Hat area and fined the pharmacy.

The executive magistrate said the pharmacy was selling unapproved Indian medicines, date expired medicines and medicines used as doctors’ samples, which is legally punishable.

The pharmacy was fined under Drug Act 1940, the executive magistrate added. The mobile court also seized huge quantities of medicines used as doctors’ samples. Later the mobile court sealed off the Pharmacy. (Source: Amar Health)
